Number 10 for the Allens!

When the Allen family took delivery of their new wheelchair accessible Volkswagen Sharan from Brotherwood, they knew to expect an exceptional service, as it represents their tenth Brotherwood WAV – an association of over 30 years dating back to 1989.

The Allen’s latest vehicle – their seventh Sharan WAV – was delivered with thanks from the whole team at Brotherwood.

We asked Mr Allen to provide some unique insight into their 3 decades of custom with Brotherwood.

“Our son Nicholas was involved in a RTA in 1978, which resulted in him being permanently confined to a wheelchair.

In 1989 we decided to change our car to something more suitable for our needs. When we were reviewing what was available, we were informed by an adviser that a relatively new company had entered the adaption market called Brotherwood.

We contacted the owner Rod Brotherwood, and when we discussed our requirements it quickly became apparent that the company under Rod were very well organised. Their priority was attention to detail and customer requirements. We completed the purchase of a Nissan Prairie which suited our current needs – but was not the ideal vehicle we wanted.

In 1992 we purchased another Nissan from Brotherwood, because of the excellent customer service and the quality of the adaption, which met all regulations.

In 1997 the VW Sharan became available from Brotherwood and the adaptions suited our requirements perfectly. The main and very important requirement was that Nicholas could sit immediately centre behind the front seats with seating on either side – ‘he joined the family’.

The VW Sharan was such a success in terms of our requirements we have brought a further 7 from Brotherwood, the last one delivered beginning of March 2020.

The vehicle is used every day, Nicholas enjoys being out with either his PA or family visiting all sorts of places he is interested in. He is very comfortable in the car; he sits with any other passengers therefore close for communication and he also has a clear view front and sides.

We have been associated for over 30 years with Brotherwood and have purchased 10 adapted vehicles in total from them. We continue to be amazed at the high quality of their conversions, the attention to detail and of course the excellent customer service, from sales right through to delivery of the vehicle and beyond. Listening to friends comments on their adapted vehicles confirms our view Brotherwood is the best company in all aspects.

We would not hesitate to recommend Brotherwood to friends and family or anyone else who was interested in adapted vehicles. Please keep your standards up!”
