Sustainability

At Brotherwood we understand our responsibility to protect our environment. We believe that even by making small changes we can reduce our impact on the landscape. Here’s just some of the ways in which we’re making an effort to minimise our carbon footprint.

Brotherwood Solar

We are Solar Powered

Our production facility in rural Dorset is 100% powered by the sun – thanks to our rooftop solar panel array.

Since installing our solar system in 2015 we’ve saved huge quantities of fossil fuels by generating our own electricity, powering everything from the tools in our factory to the electric vehicle chargers in our car park.

We are Planting Trees

We enjoy the beauty of our rural surroundings – situated in the rolling countryside of the South West.

In an effort to minimise our visual and environmental impact on our natural habitat we’ve invested into our local landscape, having acquired acres of grassland around our production facility. On which we have begun our own shrub, hedgerow and tree-planting campaign, in order to offset our carbon emissions and beautify our local area for years to come.

Forst Carbon Paper

We are Sourcing Responsibly

As part of our commitment to reducing waste and single-use products we have switched to using carbon offset paper products where they are available.

By printing on carbon offset paper we help fund the planting of trees and the restoration of degraded peatlands. These projects will remove tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere, whilst providing flood mitigation, enhanced biodiversity and increased public access.

We are Recycling & Repurposing

As part of our vehicle conversion process we remove many original components from our brand new vehicles – including plastic interior parts.

As part of our conversion process, any unused parts are sorted for recycling depending on their composition – or sold back to the aftermarket for the repair and maintenance of other road going vehicles.

Electric WAV charging

We are Investing in Electric Vehicles

Brotherwood were the first convertor in the UK to provide a fully electric Wheelchair Accessible in 2015, with the launch of the Nissan eNV-200 ‘Envy’ WAV.

We continue to offer zero-emissions accessible transport with the release of our ‘elektron’ conversion for the Vauxhaull Vivaro eLife, offering our clients the option to switch to zero-emission motoring.
